With five kids, I always seem to have bins full of outgrown toys, books and toys. A few years ago I started consigning the items at consignment sales and love it! Since I am able to price my items I can get more than what I used to get by taking things to the consignment store. There is a little more work involved than taking to a consignment store; you have to hang the items and tag them then drop off and pick-up.
If you are ready to start making some money back on your kids' outgrown items, do an internet search for consignment sales in your local area. Most areas have at least a small sale available. One national chain of sales is called JBF. They have sales in almost every state (most states have sales in several cities). Definitely check for some of the smaller sales in your area too; they are often easier to deal with and a great way to start before jumping into a big sale like JBF.
Throughout the next few weeks I will be sharing some tips on getting your items ready to consign so stop by often!
